About docket.pub

Docket.pub is a civic transparency project that indexes public meeting records from Alabama municipalities and makes them searchable, citable, and easy to read.

What it is

Public records, made readable

Every Alabama city of any size posts agendas, minutes, and meeting videos online — but the information lives in scattered PDFs, video archives, and platform-specific portals. Docket.pub pulls those records together, links every figure back to its original source, and lets you search across cities and years.

Today the project covers Birmingham, Mobile, Vestavia Hills, and Homewood, with more cities planned.

Who it is for

Residents, reporters, researchers

If you want to know how your council voted on a contract, what was on the consent agenda last Tuesday, or how often a particular topic comes up — that information is public, and this site is built to surface it.

Status

Private development

Docket.pub is in active development and not yet publicly launched. Coverage gaps, parsing errors, and rough edges are expected. If you find one, please tell us.

Privacy

How we measure traffic

docket.pub uses a cookieless, self-hosted analytics tracker. We don't track you across sites and we don't set any cookies or localStorage IDs. The tracker stores only aggregated pageview counts and two custom interaction events (outbound source clicks and search submissions). The dashboard is publicly readable — anyone can see what's read on docket.pub.
