City declares 737 blighted properties public nuisance over noxious weeds

Birmingham is moving to clean up 737 abandoned or neglected properties overgrown with dangerous weeds. Owners will receive notice and the city can now move toward enforcement, demolition, or forced cleanup—clearing neighborhoods of eyesores and public health hazards.
