Council to approve $500 financial literacy workshop deal through 2026

If approved, the city would fund Never Go Broke, Inc. to deliver financial education workshops and money-management training to students through June 2026 using District 8 discretionary funds. Would equip young people with tools for informed financial decision-making.

$270K grant to fund resident-led Love Your Block program through 2028

If approved, would enable Birmingham to transform vacant lots into community assets through a resident-led program funded by Johns Hopkins. No local match required.
