Proposed ordinance: eliminate consumer use tax early-payment discount
Would remove a financial incentive for timely payment of consumer use tax. If approved, businesses and individuals would no longer receive a discount for paying this tax early—effectively raising the effective tax rate for those who currently take advantage of the discount.
