Council moves regular meetings to Boutwell Auditorium
Birmingham City Council will hold regular meetings at Boutwell Auditorium (1930 Reverend Abraham Woods, Jr. Boulevard, 2nd Floor) instead of City Hall. Public meetings remain open; this changes the venue.
City sells Crescent Heights lots to Edwina Phillips for $349.21
Two city-owned parcels in Crescent Heights will transfer to a private owner for $349.21. This completes a property sale where the city recovers minimal cost.
Public hearing set May 2 on zoning map change (Case ZAC2022-00013)
Zoning changes can affect property values, land use, and neighborhood character. A public hearing on May 2 will allow residents to comment before the city decides whether to rezone the affected area.
Emergency repair: Smithfield Library roof leak fixed under emergency purchase
Roof damage at the Smithfield Branch Library is being repaired on an emergency basis to prevent further water damage and service interruption. The city is using emergency procurement rules to speed up repairs rather than normal bidding processes.
